Spring clean your gift giving this season

This week I’d like to examine the notion of giving flowers. With so many wonderful blooms bursting with vibrant colour at this time of year, there couldn’t be a better time than now to think about sending a bouquet to someone special.

With so many sites offering beautiful buds for very reasonable prices, your choice of bloom itself not only conveys an unspoken message to the recipient which can be helpful on occasions where words are difficult to find, but will brighten any room or mood. Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary or the arrival of a new member of your family, flowers are a wonderful way to openly express your happiness.

There are of course other unusual ways to send flowers to your loved ones; sites such as Treat Her have a range of gardening gifts to inspire her horticultural aspirations. For every occasion you can imagine and every season, there’s a show stopping selection of green-fingered gifts you can choose from to send to convey your message, from secateurs from the V&A (using the William Morris “Daisy” design) to linen gloves. Or why not chose a box set, such as the “Kitchen Garden For Her” complete with instructions on how to plant and care for a range of delicious delights including peppers, tomatoes and rocket.

Finally, an unusual and more long-lasting way to give flowers is to give them in the form of jewellery. Treat Her has a range of inspired jewellery items, including the gorgeous amethyst thistle pendant (perhaps there is a special Caledonian in your life who would appreciate a reminder of her roots?), the Falling Leaves earrings in silver, rose gold and gold-plated leaves; or the Silver and Rose Gold-plated leaves pendant. These gifts will be still delighting the recipient long after real blooms would have wilted away.

I hope these ideas are enough to help you to make the impression you want, happy browsing.
